Raids in Ctg houses called off, nothing suspicious found

Raids in two houses in Chittagong city suspecting dens of militants have been called off as the joint forces had not found anything suspicious there.


The joint forces started raids around 4:00pm today in the houses in Colonel Haat area under Akbar Shah Thana while they called off the raids around 6:00pm.


Police cordoned off ‘MMH Nibas’ on road no. 1, house no. 40/41 in CDA residential area and another house ‘Shri Shri Raksha Kali’ on Ishan Mohazon Road in North Kattoli area of the port city around 4:00pm.


Later, the joint forces started raid in the houses. The joint forces comprising of police, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and bomb disposal unit.


ABM Faizur Rahman, assistant commissioner of Double Mooring zone, said, “The raid is being carried out as a part of the regular activities against the militants.”
