Myanmar team visits two more Rohingya camps

The 10-member delegation of Myanmar government on Monday visited two more Rohingya camps for the second day to learn of their status first-hand.


They visited an unregistered Rohingya camp in Ukhia upazila’s Pashchim Balukhali where they talked with the people directly including those who fled to Bangladesh till this noon.


Later, they visited Letha refugee camp in Teknaf upazila. The team stayed there until this evening and talked with the refugee Rohingyas.


After their arrival on Sunday, the team met Deputy Commissioner of Cox's Bazar district Mohammad Ali Hossain to get a preliminary picture about the Rohingya issue.


Later, the team went to Kutupalong Rohingya Camp in Ukhia yesterday afternoon.


Though the Myanmar team visited Rohingya camps for the two days, any member of the team has not talked to media till now with the issue.


On the other hand, the officials of International Organization for Migration (IOM) and various donor agencies, who are accompanying the team, also yet to agree to talk.
