Krishna Kaberi murder case trial begins

The trial of college teacher Krishna Kaberi Biswas murder case has been started.


The college teacher was murdered in the capital’s Mohammadpur area on March 30, 2015 last year while her husband and also BRTA Deputy Director Sitangshu Shekhar Biswas injured in the attack.


A Dhaka court today indicted the lone suspect, KM Zahirul Islam Palash, in the murder case and started the trial after accepting the charge sheet on him.


The plaintiff's lawyer, Sheikh Baharul Islam, has confirmed this to Samakal.


Palash, a business associate of Sitangshu, allegedly carried out the brutal attack on them on the day when Krishna’s husband Sitangshu, their daughters Srabani Biswas Sruti and Arti Biswas were also injured.


According to the case statement, on the night of March 30, the killer allegedly entered the flat of Sitangshu to greet him on his birthday.


The case statement also read, 'As Krishna wanted to save her husband, the killer hacked her and later set her on fire and she was died later while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
