Heavy rain submerges parts of Ctg city

Heavy rain submerged many streets of the port city on Friday, leaving the normal life in disarray, UNB reports.

The low-lying areas of the city, including Muradpur, Chakbazar, Sholosohor, Agrabad and Halishohor areas, went under knee-deep water due to the torrential rain that started early Friday and continued till 10:00am, causing immense sufferings to the city dwellers.

People were seen crossing the roads by rickshaw or wading through the knee-deep water in the city.

According to the local Met office, 32 millimeter rainfall was recorded in two hours from 7:00am to 10:00am.
