Four alleged militants have surrendered to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during a raid at a suspected militant hideout in Ashulia of Savar, outskirts of the capital.

The arrestees are: Mozammel Huq, Rashedul Nabi alias Rashed, Irfanul Islam alias Irfan and Alamgir Hossain.

The four are the members of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh's (JMB) Sarwar-Tamim group and Mozammel is their leader, RAB said adding that they made the hideout to drive sabotage.

The militants rented the house of one Ibrahim, a local of the Chakalgram-Chourapara area, in guise of the garment workers and used it as their hideout, RAB added.

The four emerged from the  'militant hideout' following repeated request over loud speakers of the law enforces, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of legal and media wing of Rapid Action Battalion.

Earlier, suspecting as 'militant hideout', the members of RAB cordoned off one-storey house in Chakalgram Chourapara area of Pathalia union in Ashulia of Savar since 1:00am on Sunday.
