Factional clash at Beanibazar govt college

BCL man shot dead in classroom

One youth was shot dead in a class room of Beanibazar Government College in Sylhet after a factional clash of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Monday noon.


The dead is identified as Liton Ahmed Litu, 25, a BCL activist in the campus and also owner of a mobile phone shop in the area.


Sources said, the clash was erupted in the campus among two groups of BCL of the college unit over cerating supremacy.


Beanibazar thana acting officer-in-charge (OC) Chandan Kumar Chakrabarty, has confirmed the dead to Samakal adding, 'The dead body was sent to the hospital for medical examination.'


Police is trying to arrest the killer, the officer added.


Principal of the college, Darkesh Chandra Nath, has also confirmed the dead saying, 'All examinations of the college have been suspended while the college has also been closed immediately after the incident.'
