SL to host World XI in charity T20

Online Desk
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will host a charity match between World XI and Sri Lanka XI on September 8 in a Twenty20 match scheduled to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium, SLC sources said.

The match that will be played two days after the one off T20I between Sri Lanka and India, will feature a host of present and retired overseas stars.

"The negotiations are going on with the overseas players and we will be able to confirm the names soon," the SLC source told Cricbuzz.

The funds collected from the game will proceed towards the victims of the recent flood and the patients suffering from the chronic kidney disease that has caused more than 20,000 deaths in the last 20 years.

The Sri Lanka XI will comprise a mixture of current and former players.
